Skills
Due to using excel every day, I have significantly improved my skills when navigating the software by increasing my knowledge of formulas and useful tools. During my placement year, there have been lots of workshop opportunities on offer which have developed my knowledge on soft skills such as communication, resilience and mental toughness as well as successful working relationships. In addition to workshops, working with a third party team has also improved my confidence and communication skills. With having a project oriented role, I learnt to use an array of business applications used in the company day to day.
Responsibilities
I have the responsibility to develop and implement new methods of pricing, planning, analysis and reporting. I also have to assist with different projects which deliver benefits across all areas of the department. In addition, I assist with any queries from the Financial Ombudsman or the Financial Conduct Authority on Commissions. Every month I have the responsibility to do two reports. As a result, I do feel like I have had a lot of responsibility which has benefitted me.
Support & Guidance
I have received support and guidance whenever I have needed it. My manager makes sure to catch up with me to ensure I understand the work at hand. The support and guidance overall is really accessible and not overbearing.
