  • My role consisted of managing online education platforms for the LDB divisions, assisting in events, rewards, customer service and trainings.

  • I have become a much better team player, balancing positive relationships with my team while prioritising tasks and meeting deadlines. Engaging with partner businesses and stakeholders, as well as customers, has been helpful to develop my understanding of the business, organisation and leadership skills.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • I was given various responsibility and was able to manage projects that I was leading with projects that involved my team. This was a great opportunity to lead and still work in a team, all while maintaining positive relationships and keeping a common objective in mind: to expand dermatological education and deliver better education experiences.

    Support & Guidance

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • I received proper guidance from not only my manager, but from other senior team members and stakeholders that had been in the business for a longer period of time. I never felt disregarded or lost in what I was doing, as I always felt like I could go to someone for support or to ask questions about the tasks and projects.

    Culture

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • Very welcoming. It felt safe to make mistakes and give your opinion, despite having different perspectives or priorities at times. The projects I was given also allowed me to expand my role and leave my comfort zone, which made this a very enriching experience for my personal and professional growth.

    Your Impressions

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • I really enjoyed my placement. I felt like I was a valuable member of my team and a big influence on the projects I worked on. The day to day interaction with people from the company (stakeholders, managers, staff, other interns) made me feel included and motivated to work.

  • Keep an open mind. You might be given a diversity of tasks that you might not be familiar with, so opening up to them and trying to make the most out of the opportunities you are given can make a significant difference in what you gain from your time at the company.
