Overview
In this role, it is expected to join meetings with business unit and market operations teams on a daily basis. Discussions generally revolve around analysing data, identifying improvements and defects in products and monitoring trends and patterns in consumer behaviours and opinions. I collate data from various sources, analyse reports and present the findings to quality teams.
Skills
I have learned the importance of attention to detail, which is a crucial skill that generally prevents costly mistakes, improves efficiency and enhances overall quality. Along with this detail-orientated approach, I have developed analytical, resilient and adaptable skills.
Responsibilities
I was given the responsibility to collect primary data and coordinate communications between quality teams. This ensured that data was being collected and analysed every quarter.
Support & Guidance
I received vital support from my line manager, team members and day-to-day support from other IP's. Whenever I needed insights, both in my role and in everyday life, my line manager dedicated their time to offer advice and trainings.
Culture
Unilever's culture is inclusive and positive. In office, there are social spaces available to grab coffees and engage with a variety of people. Virtually, there are organised opportunities to enhance the atmosphere and remain motivated such as, an online pub style quiz, guided meditation session and townhall meetings that recognise people's hard work. Unilever certainly encourage a work/life balance and helpful in almost any situation.
Your Impressions
I have thoroughly enjoyed stepping into the world of business at Unilever. I have mostly enjoyed collaborating with team members, building friendships with other IP's, adding worthwhile value to projects and adapted well to a work/life regime.
Yes
I would advise to be passionate ensure that your values align with Unilever. Make sure that you do a couple of LinkedIn courses for beginners heading into the work world and understand what you may face. Research the organisational structure and general business strategy. Always ask your questions that you have.
