Overview
Supporting the Global Functions HR Team with business partnering Legal, C&CA and Sustainability with talent data, learning initiatives and change management. I support employees of all levels with strategic and process queries as well as connect them with other areas of the business or other areas of HR. I manage talent data and support with talent initiatives - helping the business have the right talent in the right roles.
Skills
I have learnt how to use Workday and have strengthened my Excel skills. Working in a global team, I have improved my communication skills, have become more agile and more resilient as we have gone through times of change. I have strengthened my ability to prioritise and network as Unilever is such a large company with so many people to meet and work with!
Responsibilities
Yes! I have been able to work with many senior stakeholders and have received great exposure from my team to be involved with projects that I would never have imagined that a placement student would be able to do! I have led on three major projects and have been supported by my team and manager the whole way through, meaning I have never been in a situation where I have felt ill-equipped or unsupported.
Support & Guidance
Lots! My manager and my team have been so supportive and have made it clear to me throughout my placement that no question is a silly question and that if I need support - they are always there! As this is a learning experience, I have been checked up on frequently and when something has not appeared clear, they have taken the time to sit with me and clarify. Making my work environment feel super safe.
Culture
Very warm and caring - there is an emphasis in the company on 'caring deeply' and I really feel that within my team and the wider population.
Your Impressions
I really have enjoyed my placement and it is thanks to my great team and also how much faith they have had in me which has led to me being able to get involved in so many projects which have built my confidence and given me a real taste of what HR is like!
Yes
