Overview
My role involves many different things, no day is the same! My main focus at the moment is working on our Future Careers attraction strategy. This essentially means that I manage how our programmes (Graduate, Placement and Apprenticeship Scheme) are advertised, whether this be through social media, job boards, outreach events and even our website. Along side attraction I also over see the teams finance which is also a big part of my role.
Skills
I have learnt so many new skills whilst being on placement at Unilever (both hard and soft skills). I have built not only my self- confidence but also my team working skills, my listening skills, my communication skills, resilience, critical thinking, leadership and time management skills - all of which are crucial for my role.
Responsibilities
I was given responsibly from day one with so many opportunities being offered to me when it came to getting involved in different projects. I have even been able to run some of my own with little help from my Line Manager (she was always there to support where needed though!)
Support & Guidance
My line manager has been a massive support system as well as my peers in my team and my team manager.
Culture
The company culture at Unilever is truly unmatched. Everyone is super friendly and approachable and employees are always happy to offer guidance/support or even just happy to have a general chat. People are always more than happy to share advice which will help you grow.
Your Impressions
I have loved working at Unilever and would definitely love to come back.
Yes
Just be yourself! They really do value you for who you are and that's who they want to see. Fresh minds bring fresh ideas and they really do value this as a company.
