    Business Insight

  • 3. What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
  • Structured 鈥淪ervice Line鈥 Introductions Early on, a senior facilitator walked us through the firm鈥檚 three core service lines鈥擜udit & Assurance, Tax & Legal, and Advisory (which itself spans everything from Transaction Services to Risk Consulting). Rather than a dry slide鈥慸eck, each segment was brought to life with real鈥憌orld examples of client projects, showing you exactly what each team does on a day鈥憈o鈥慸ay basis and the kind of value they deliver. Live Q&A with Practitioners Immediately after each service鈥憀ine overview, small鈥慻roup Q&As with professionals currently working in those teams gave us the chance to drill down on 鈥渁 day in the life.鈥 We heard, for instance, what an audit trainee鈥檚 week looks like during busy season versus quieter months, and how a tax consultant balances multiple client deadlines and long鈥憈erm planning work.

    Culture

  • 4. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • Open, flat鈥慼ierarchy environment: From the moment you arrived, the event space felt more like a shared workshop than a formal lecture hall. Partners, managers and trainees all mixed freely鈥攖here was no sense of 鈥渋vory tower,鈥 and everyone was encouraged to speak up, ask questions and challenge assumptions. Bright Network Genuine inclusivity and respect for individuals: The firm鈥檚 stated commitment to diversity wasn鈥檛 just lip鈥憇ervice. Throughout the day, you saw people from varied backgrounds sharing their stories, and facilitators actively sought everyone鈥檚 input. This mirrored their core value of 鈥淒iversity and respect for individuals,鈥 where open鈥憁indedness is treated as a driver of innovation.

    Your Impressions

  • 5. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • Culture Fit: I left confident that Forvis Mazars isn鈥檛 just another big firm. Their emphasis on wellbeing, diversity and flexible working felt baked into every interaction, not just thrown in at the end. That alignment between what they preach and what they practice made me excited about the prospect of working there. Room for Improvement: The only thing I鈥檇 adjust is timing鈥攕ome of the workshops felt slightly rushed, especially when you鈥檙e gearing up to ask follow鈥憉p questions. A little extra buffer between sessions would allow deeper dives where you really want them

  • 8. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Forvis Mazars
  • 1. Do Your Homework Deep鈥慸ive into the firm鈥檚 service lines (Audit & Assurance, Tax & Legal, Advisory): know a few recent Mazars projects or thought鈥憀eadership pieces and be prepared to discuss why those areas appeal to you. Understand their culture and values (respect for individuals, integrity, diversity): think of concrete examples from your own experience that demonstrate how you live those values. 2. Tailor Your CV and Cover Letter Be succinct but specific: highlight relevant experience鈥攇roup projects, part鈥憈ime jobs or societies鈥攚here you鈥檝e shown teamwork, communication or problem鈥憇olving. Use their language: mirror words from the job spec (e.g. 鈥渃ommercial awareness,鈥 鈥渃lient focus,鈥 鈥渄ata analysis鈥) to make it obvious you鈥檝e read it closely. Quantify achievements: 鈥淟ed a team of 4 to research and pitch a cost鈥憇aving proposal which would have reduced overheads by 8%.鈥 3. Demonstrate Commercial Awareness Read broadly: follow business news and keep an eye on sectors Mazars serves (e.g. financial services, manufacturing, tech). Form an opinion: have one or two quick takes you could drop into an interview鈥斺淚 noticed in the last quarterly report Mazars talked about鈥 so I think the firm is well鈥憄laced to help clients with鈥︹
